Level I - Allan Block Contractor Certification Training

The Allan Block Contractor Certification Program is designed to give contractors the proper training and tools to ensure top quality retaining walls are built. As a leader in the industry, Allan Block Corporation has developed these tools and training programs to help contractors get the knowledge and the resources they need.

With the help of our vast network of trained Allan Block representatives, thousands of professionals have already taken advantage of our installation training, technical support, and the many tools we have available to help them plan, design and build with Allan Block products.

This three-stage program blends the details of wall design and the experience of wall construction to help us define each contractor’s individual level of ability and service. Class runs from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. Check back as more dates will be added for upcoming classes in additional level certifications.

Second Annual Rockland Eagles Smoke-Off BBQ Competition

On Saturday September 11th, the Rockland Eagles Club will be sponsoring their second annual Smoke-off BBQ competition. This event will feature up to 20 teams competing for trophies and bragging rights.

Back Yard Living has entered a team in this years competition and has invited a special guest, Chris Marks, owner of Three Little Pigs BBQ & Catering in Independence, MO and General Manager of Ace of Hearts BBQ Specialties. He has won the prestigious American Royal Championship eight times and also captured the Jack Daniels World Championship in 2000.

Chris will be cooking on The Good One Smokers and answering questions from one and all regarding BBQ, smoking and grills. He has won over 40 competitive events in the United States and has been featured on the Travel Channel's "Taste of America with Mark DeCarlo," and the Food Network's "BBQ Battle". Chris also has taught over 1500 students the art of cooking Pit BBQ, coast to coast over the past 2 years. Chris continues his passion of BBQ by promoting and endorsing the Good-One ™ Smoker/Grill and mentoring and providing BBQ classes for new Good-One ™ owners.
